  1. Correctness - Many grammatical, pronunciation and vocabulary mistakes are harmless, even charming! Others can be business critical. Discover the most important mistakes made by German speakers of English, and how to avoid them.
  2. Fluent Vocabulary - How many words do you need? How many do you know? What are the most efficient ways to build your general and professional vocabulary in the shortest time? Learn key business words and phrases and develop more confidence in speaking.
  3. Difficult Speakers - Strategies for understanding and handling difficult speakers. How to deal with strong accents, fast talkers, and people who just don't listen.
  4. Written Messages - How has the Internet changed written English, and how do e.mails differ from faxes and letters? What are the best ways to structure a written message? Learn the correct rules of address, startings and endings, punctuation and abbreviations.
  5. Meetings Management - How can you control business conversations and what are the best ways of asking and answering questions? Word and phrases for opening and closing meetings. How to interrupt and bring your point across. Dealing with difficult conversation partners.
  6. Diplomacy & Politeness - What are the best ways to say 'no' politely? How can you present bad news in the best light? Learn how to use 'softeners' in sentences to make sure that negative or sensitive information is understood and accepted.

Your Trainer

Paul Smith is head of PSA International and has been training European professionals for over 20 years. He has a post-graduate Master's Degree in visual communication and educational technology from London's Royal College of Art.

PSA delivers management training to top international companies and has worked with leading European training agencies including Management Center Europe (Brussels), Zentrum für Unternehmensführung (Zürich), Stockholm and Oxford Universities, The British Council, and over 20 different German IHKs.

Paul was for 4 years Chairman of the highly successful English Public Speaking Competition sponsored by The Financial Times Europe and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

He is a faculty member of the Center for Global Dialogue in Zürich, one of Europe's top institutions for innovation in corporate learning. His articles on business communication appeared in the popular English magazine Spotlight, Business Spotlight and Handelsblatt.

Registration & price

We do recommend early registration as places are limited. The 3-day training price of of Euro 1650,-- (+ MwSt) includes all instruction, documentation, certificate, and 2 evening programmes.

Special reduction of Euro 100.- per person for 2 or more persons from the same organization - (please add additional names in the comment field at the end of this form).

You may cancel your registration without cost until 30 days before the training, thereafter the full fee is payable (plus any hotel cancellation charges). You may nominate a substitute at any time, without extra charge.

The hotel has kindly offered us a special group price of Euro 450,-- per person; this price includes comfortable single room, breakfast buffet, 3x lunch, 2x dinner and conference facilities with coffee/tea and 2 soft drinks per day.

We shall confirm your reservation with the hotel after receiving your registration.
